Exhibitor Statements, Control 2010
WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG, Dr. Evelin Arnold, Head of Corporate Marketing
“For the Wenzel Group, CONTROL is, and will remain, the best platform for presenting innovations, and for gathering information about technological trends. And that’s why we had two market launches at this year’s event for highlights from the fields of white light sensor technology and computer tomography. In comparison with last year, we’ve been able top increase the number of visitors at our booth. Not least of all, we see this perceptible increase as a positive signal for an economic upswing, which is boosting our confidence for the future.”
Renishaw GmbH, Annette Kärcher, MBA, Marketing Manager
CONTROL 2010 has started out very well for Renishaw. A positive attitude prevails at the trade fair and the quality of the expert visitors is very good. The market appears to be recovering from the crisis gradually, and is now open to new developments. Today, the second day of the trade fair, we’ve had a run on visitors with concrete product interest at our booth. This tremendous drawing power can certainly be attributed in part to an innovation presented at our booth, namely the PH 20, a 5-axis indexing head. To a certain extent, the CONTROL also serves as a barometer for us, which indicates whether or not our current strategies are pointed in the right direction. This year’s CONTROL is confirming that this is indeed the case.
Duwe-3d AG, Claus Knoll, Marketing Manager
One again in 2010, we’re getting positive results. Control will more than live up to its reputation as a leading international trade fair for quality assurance again this year. In addition to flawless organisation in comparison with other trade fairs and a modern, centrally located exhibition centre, this is above all apparent due to the large numbers of national and international exhibitors and visitors. The fact that more visitors found their way to the event than last year was perceptible, but the hoped for boom after the crisis in 2009 failed to materialise. Nevertheless, we’re very satisfied with our participation due to the quality of the leads we’ve picked up here. We’re especially pleased about the intensive cooperation with our partner companies: PolyWorks software was in use at numerous booths and we were also able to provide our partner companies with valuable leads. This has been a consolation for the relentless rain in Stuttgart.
IBS AG, Jürgen Wolf, Director of Strategic Marketing and Business Development www.ibs-ag.de
Significantly more visitors gave advance notice that they would come to our booth at this year’s CONTROL than was the case last year. And we had 30 to 40% more visitors at our booth than in 2009. The quality of the trade fair visitors is very good. Our presentation at this year’s event is broken down thematically and each day has a different focal point – we started with “automotive and electronics” on the first day, covered “solar and photovoltaic” on the third day and addressed the subject of “aerospace” on the fourth day. Representatives from customer companies involved in these fields were at pour booth on the respective days, and offered information. They were available to answer questions and were invited to join discussions. Six representatives from various companies reported on trends, projects, experience and successes at our traditional press conference on the first day. As one of the largest suppliers in the QA field, CONTROL 2010 gave us the impression that things are looking up again within the sector. For us, the influx of visitors at our booth once again confirmed that intensive preparation for our trade fair presentations pays off, and underscored just how important it is to distinguish oneself from the crowd by means of special measures.
Dr. Heinrich Schneider Messtechnik GmbH, Uwe J. Keller, Director of Marketing and Business Strategy
For us, CONTROL is the most important trade fair anywhere in the world. We set up our presentation accordingly, and we even increased booth size by 50% during crisis year 2009. As a result, we were able to significantly increase trade fair efficiency last year. We’ve done our homework and have activated new fields of business outside of our established areas. Our marketing strategy for 2010 is: Only new products and products with significant improvements are on exhibit at our booth. This year’s eye-catcher has attracted special attention amongst the visitors: “Fit for the World Championships” – an event area with a biathlon system where our instruments measure the accuracy of target pulses generated by competition laser guns. It’s a fun way to demonstrate our precision measurement capabilities. We’re also partners to the World Association for Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) in this field of technology. CONTROL 2010 went very well for us this year – right from the very beginning. Already on the second day we sold instruments directly at the trade fair, and these sales included on-the-spot buying decisions thanks to the good atmosphere.
AMETEK GmbH, Michael Privik, Managing Director
CONTROL is the most important trade fair for the configuration within which our company presents itself here. Our goal is the world market, and thus we see the increasing internationalism of CONTROL in a positive light. Lots of visitors have come to our booth at CONTROL, and the quality of our leads has been very good. The visitors approach us with concrete projects. Budgets are once again available. All in all, the sector is visibly rebounding from the economic low point – a fact that we can perceive here, as well as at other trade fairs. A world’s first from the field of out-of-roundness and roughness testing is demonstrating great drawing power at our booth.
Sarissa GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Volker Jauch, Managing Director
CONTROL is at the top of the list in our marketing mix. After having a somewhat quite first day at our booth, we registered growing visitor numbers during the course of the event, and even a disproportionately large increase on the third day. The contacts we establish here are significant, and can be classified as good to very good. They usually result in follow-up discussions and quotations. For us, CONTROL serves the purpose of maintaining existing relationships with customers, the press and suppliers on the one hand, and of course on the other hand, of establishing new contacts which amount to about half of all our trade fair interactions. Due to numerous incalculable factors, it’s difficult to say how the market will develop from here, but one thing’s for sure: We’re seeing light at the end of the tunnel once again.
KREON TECHNOLOGIES, France, Fanny Vincent, Sales Assistant
Our company is mainly focused on export. CONTROL helps us to expand our markets worldwide and to open the gates to Europe, Asia and America. We have the impression that there were a bit more international visitors at this CONTROL. This is certainly a positive development. Most of our contacts were new contacts. Especially the second and third trade fair days were “full” with a lot of visitors”.
ASI DATAMYTE GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Weinert, Managing Director
We’re longstanding CONTROL exhibitors and have always been convinced by this trade fair. CONTROL is at the top of the list for us with regard to its importance as a marketing instrument. It’s the event for us. Primarily we take advantage of the trade fair to gain new customers, but we also inform or existing customer base about innovative new development. It’s apparent here at the trade fair that the economy is back on an upswing. People are thinking about investments again.
Geomagic, USA, Gina Strickland, Senior Marketing Programs Manager
Our software company is based in the USA and we have been exhibitors at CONTROL for several years. Our target market here is Europe. This year we had our best first day at a CONTROL show. About 30 percent of the contacts we make here are new contacts and they are of high quality. At this CONTROL, we present our biggest software release and we’ve had very good response at the show. www.geomagic.com
Mitutoyo Europe GmbH, Udo Bonus, Manager Marketing Group
Year for year, CONTROL is the leading European trade fair and a central platform for Mitutoyo. We had considerably more visitors at our booth this year than we did last year. The quality of our leads was great. In keeping with the motto “service right from the very start”, we’re focusing on the organisational structure of our newly founded European head office in Germany at this year’s exhibition. This organisational concept simplifies communication and allows for shorter response times and better support, thus assuring further improvement in the area of service. The priority of service-oriented thinking is reflected in the layout of our trade fair presentation as well: We have a service centre at our booth with actions such as “old for new” for anyone who buys a machine, free service checks etc. Beyond this, several new products from all of our product ranges are attracting the attention of customers and other interested parties this year.
Werth Messtechnik GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. Detlef Ferger, Sales Manager and Authorised Signatory
For Werth Messtechnik GmbH, CONTROL is still the leading trade fair for measuring technology and quality assurance. All in all, we’re being very well received here at CONTROL 2010. A distinct upwards trend is once again plainly perceptible. Customers and potential customers are approaching us with concrete projects again this year. Good results obtained at this year’s trade fair presentation confirm that Werth’s leading market position, especially in the fields of computer tomography and multi-sensor coordinate measuring technology, is recognised by the expert visitors. For the most part, our new products involve further expansion in the area of software and new solutions in the field of tool measuring this year.
