Special Show at Booth 1626 in Pavilion 1: “Contactless Measuring Technology”

Control

The special show entitled “Contactless Measuring Technology” at Control 2008 is intended to make a contribution to the dissemination and acceptance of contactless measuring technology by demonstrating the design concepts, the features and the limitations of new measuring devices on the basis of selected exhibits.
Precise adherence to geometrical dimensions plays an important role in production where quality assurance is concerned. The use of mechanical measuring methods is frequently quite time consuming, and measurements of this type are thus usually only performed on random samples. Measurements are currently being performed ten to a thousand times faster with contactless measuring technology, which, together with inexpensive measuring systems, is opening up a broad range of applications and in some cases is even allowing for the implementation or zero-error production concepts. Due to its mode of operation, which differs enormously from that of mechanical measuring methods, and as a result of a lack of experience in many applications, potential users still often have reservations and misgivings.
