1961 Founded Paul Schall Junior Graphics Machinery with offices in Neuffen, Germany.
1962 Organised the first technical trade fair in the name of his own company, i.e. the MOGRAMA trade fair for modern graphics machinery on Killesberg in Stuttgart.
1972 FAMETA,
international trade fair for metalworking, is held for the first time.
1975 Paul Eberhard Schall’s company shifts its focus entirely to the organisation of technical trade fairs and changes its name to P.E. Schall GmbH, Trade Fairs and Exhibitions. The company is located in Frickenhausen, Germany.
1981 FAKUMA,
international trade fair for plastics processing, is held for the first time at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre.
1982 MOTEK,
international trade fair for handling and assembly technology, is held for the first time in Sindelfingen, Germany.
1987 CONTROL,
international trade fair for quality assurance, is held for the first time in Sindelfingen, Germany.
1989 Messe Sinsheim GmbH is founded as an affiliate of P.E. Schall GmbH.
This provides P.E. Schall GmbH with its “own” exhibition centre, at which most of the company’s technical trade fairs now take place. The exhibition centre in Sinsheim is successively added on to and expanded to a total of 430,000 square feet of exhibition floor space.
1992 PESCHA Werbeagentur GmbH (advertising agency) is founded, and in 1999 becomes PESCHA, der Messedienstleister (trade fair services).
1996 PESCHA raumdesign GmbH (interior design) is founded. Together, all four of the limited liability companies make up the Schall group of companies, which promotes at total of 16 technical trade fairs and 7 public exhibitions. Today, P.E. Schall GmbH is Germany’s largest private promoter of technical trade fairs.
1997 The Schall group of companies is the first German trade fair promoter to be certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
1999 Paul E. Schall receives the Baden-Württemberg Commerce Award. The Sinsheim Exhibition Centre celebrates is 10th anniversary.
2000 Schall IT GmbH is founded.
2001 Successful Schall trade fairs are established in Italy (Motek Italy, Control Italy) and Austria (Austrotec).
2002 Paul E. Schall celebrates his 40th year as an entrepreneur. Cooperation with Deutsche Messe AG. Baden-Württemberg’s incumbent Prime Minister, Erwin Teufel, inaugurates pavilion 6 at the Sinsheim Exhibition Centre.
2003 The first MOTEK France takes place in Lyon.
2004 Securing the position of Schall’s trade fairs within the domestic market, as well as their growth, have top priority. At the same time, internationalisation of the company’s trade fairs is expanded by means of collaborations in Italy, France, Sweden, Austria and China. Standardisation of Schall’s trade fairs is intensified within the national market, by means of promoting participation of international exhibitors and visitors as well.
2005 Paul E. Schall announces that all trade fairs which have thus far taken place at the Sinsheim Exhibition Centre will be held at the new state exhibition centre in Stuttgart as of 2007. The Schall group of companies demonstrates international presence in the form of equities and licensing agreements for the promotion of CONTROL and Motek in Italy, France, Austria, Sweden and China.

2006 The year 2006 is characterised by milestones: Paul E. Schall’s 44th year as an entrepreneur, 25 years of MOTEK, 25 years of FAKUMA, 20 years of CONTROL, 10 years of Echtdampf-Hallentreffen.
